Life on the Edge

Just a short note today because what happened yesterday needs to be acknowledged so I can move on and remember it only as a lesson.

As the morning wore on, I was becoming more and more agitated. I know the signs, even if it has been a while since having to live with them day after day.
On the edge of a phone call for an emergency counselling session with the good Dr. T (my therapist), it suddenly dawned on me "I forgot to take my pills this morning!"

It is hard to believe that a few hours without chemical intervention could possibly make such a difference. By dinner time I was back in control of feelings that never completely go away. Today, all is as it should be.

It is wonderful to connect with a higher self, but as we all know, we have to acknowledge and connect with the self that deals with the body and its requirements as well. Both must be honoured.

OK, time to get on with the day! Hope yours is a good one too!

    1. My eldest daughter has epilepsy, and she sometimes says she doesn't need her tablets and refuses to take them, until she feels ill and then realises that she does actually need them. We all need different things to keep us healthy, we only really realise what they are when they are removed.

    2. When medications work, we can become convinced that we are fixed and don't really need the drug anymore. I know it will by a long time before I forget to take mine. Hope your daughter now feels the same way Joey.

  2. Glad you worked out the cause and was able to address it so quickly, Halle. Have a great weekend!

  3. My ex rattles when she moves through all the meds she has to take. If she forgets to take them she is swiftly reminded. You just gotta put up with it I guess. Just as well though that you remembered in time Halle. I am not sure what would have been the result had you forgotten completely but I'm happy that didn't happen. Maybe wearing a bracelet as a reminder might help. I couldn't do that however as I'd be wondering what the bracelet was doing on my wrist! LOL Do take care of yourself
