And So It Goes - Again

It comes as a surprise that some people can manage to make daily contributions to a blog. That they manage to make it meaningful under those circumstances amazes me.

This isn't a daily blog and that makes such a difference - I won't say goodbye or never again. Yet it is understandable to me that some announce the end of their blog.

Four years ago we said goodbye to Call Me Meg (yes Meg, I saw your comment on Stana's post and it gladdened my heart to know you are still out there).

Earlier this year, Caroline announced that TIME REGAINED was done, and so far, she hasn't seen fit to change her mind.

On Saturday, Stana threw in the towel and that surprised me. Yet, given what I wrote above, (she has been writing Femulate for over twelve years ... wow) we can all agree she doesn't owe the community a thing.

Having given that some thought, none of us do.

In every heart there is a room
A sanctuary safe and strong
To heal the wounds from lovers past
Until a new one comes along

I spoke to you in cautious tones
You answered me with no pretence
And still I feel I said too much
My silence is my self defence

And every time I've held a rose
It seems I only felt the thorns
And so it goes, and so it goes
And so will you soon I suppose

But if my silence made you leave
Then that would be my worst mistake
So I will share this room with you
And you can have this heart to break

And this is why my eyes are closed
It's just as well for all I've seen
And so it goes, and so it goes
And you're the only one who knows

So I would choose to be with you
That's if the choice were mine to make
But you can make decisions too
And you can have this heart to break

And so it goes, and so it goes
And you're the only one who knows

  1. It's hard work keeping a blog alive. I feel I'm getting to the stage where basically I've said it all. It's sad to see people go but I understand why.

    1. Yes CJ, that feeling of repetition (I've featured this video before, for instance) makes one think it might be time to say, enough, or at the very least, That'll do ...
The sadness at the loss is real though. So nice to see friends drop a line as they pass by!

  2. Yes, I agree. It's hard work keeping a blog alive. I recently realised that I haven't posted since the last week of May 2019. There is a little sadness [even guilt, perhaps] about that withdrawal from the world. Even though my last post was written in the middle of a process, I nevertheless felt that I hadn't what it takes to finish that line of spiritual exploration.

Oddly, because I do not like relationships of any kind that just dribble on and on without resolution, I am finding that I have no wish to draw Gwynt to a close. I think that is because of the nature of what I choose to talk about [and is there ever a resolution about our relationship with matters spiritual?] and the possibility that something new may arise, as well as the sadness I would feel about cutting myself off from those who share my interest. To some degree, of course, this has already happened.

So, I am here, and here will I remain for the foreseeable future, hoping that blogging fatigue will be understood and accepted - not to mention the fact that I have a great deal of gardening to do in a diminishing time to get it all done. Ah! Dream on, fellow-me-lad. It'll never be finished.

    1. Hopefully that awful heat has left you some garden to tend Tom!

As I wrote to LL Cool Joe above, I look forward to reading the thoughts of those who pass through this small part (now - it was a very big part once) of my world.

You have expressed it well when you acknowledged the possibility that something new may arise. Never finished indeed!

  4. Always liked that song. This is one of my favorite songs of his, and I suspect one of his most personal - "Where's the Orchestra":

    1. A very personal sounding song. Listen twice and then again. Then I looked it up to see what else was on the album. Listened to Allentown and it added a layer of complexity. I definitely have a lot of listening to do before I really can say I know Billy Joel's music!!
As always, thanks Cassidy. Big Hugs.
