Green and Other Wonderful Colours

There are times when events can make me feel quite hopeless about the world, and I wonder.

Where can we find a message that says there is hope?
Who will tell us that being who we are isn't terrible - even though there are terrible events and, sometimes, terrible people in the world?
Who can tell us, and show us, that living as we are, openly and without shame, is what is right and good?

If you are green, purple, black, gay or trans, or any other colour of the rainbow, be yourself. Sing along, if you can. Or just listen, and, perhaps, have a good cry as I did (tears of happiness, I assure you).

Simple, to last a whole life long.

  1. Hi Halle,
This year I was asked to start a singalong /choir for the local u3A and last week we learnt a few new numbers - “The Wild Rover”, “The Rainbow Connection” and Bali Hei in addition to enjoyed singing “Blow’in in the Wind” to words adapted to a U3A Theme song and of course a chorus ending with 'the answer my friend is to join A U3A "?
In thought you might also like the Barbara Streisand version of the Rainbow Connection.

  2. Hello Lindsay,
What a lovely collection you chose for your choir. Barbra somehow manages to treat every song she sings as a unique gem. Rainbow connection is certainly no exception, letting Jim Henson's wonderful spirit shine through Kermit's voice and giving the song just enough of her own charm.
I hope you don't mind an additional link here for The Wild Rover; such a great song.

All the Best to you as well!
